What the box says:
From the producer of Bruce Almighty and Liar Liar comes a whole new school of thought Accepted. When every college turns him down Bartleby "B" Gaines decides to make one up. Welcome to South Harmon Institute of Technology, where the students teach the classes, the dean lives in a trailer in the back, and Bartleby's on the way to scoring with the girl of his dreams. It's a raunchy, rowdy, flat-out funny college comedy that critics are calling "freaking hilarious".
What Kayla says;
High School student Bartleby just graduated school and is going to attend college but little does he know the School he applied for rejects him and he is stuck working at some store with his dad unless he gets into a college. So he comes up with the idea of making a fake admissions form for some school no ones heard about. His parents buy the admission form but they wanna see the school so him and his friends scramble to make a abandon mental hospital pass as there college.
The Verdict;
I love this movie its always been one of my favorites. Its a good movie to watch with friends and family and on a date if you want a romantic comedy, I watch it again but not over and over. I laughed at some parts and it was funny to see one of the movies that made Joan Hill the funny comedian he is to day.

What Mat says:
Trouble making fast talking Ohio HS student Bartleby is attempting to make his way through HS and into college using only his wit. After multiple failures and rejection letters he creates a master plan to fool his success obsessed father and creates a fake acceptance letter for a fake branch of the local college. Things spiral out of control when his father insists on dropping him off and meeting the dean AFTER handing him a $10,000 check. Flipping a dilapidated mental facility to a faux college is the easy part, the hard part is when a website programmer accidentally makes the fake acceptance letter available to thousands of local students who were also rejected from every school they applied to. B decides on a "new" teaching technique... ask what the students want to learn and teach them THAT. Each failure or reject finds what makes them feel good and begins to follow their dreams. As the main branch of the local school attempts to expand to create a pompus "grand gateway" the attempt to purchase the old mental facility and find that something is happening in the building that they DO NOT approve of.
The Verdict:
This movie rings echos of movies like Ferris Buelers Day Off. The main character even has many of the same fast talking, maliciously intelligent qualities. The difference is that this film doesn't feel like it has the same staying power. The actors did a good job of portraying college students and you actually begin to root for the rejects by the middle of the movie even though many of them at first appear to be gruff and unteachable. I found only a few times when I actually laughed out loud but for me the crowning moments were the scenes with a still heavy Jonah Hill, and a self loathing dean played by Lewis Black. Overall I feel like compared to movies like Super Bad, Kick Ass, or even older movies like Caddyshack this movies claim of "raunchy" and "rowdy" humor just hasn't held up. I don't think I would buy this movie but I also didn't dislike the experience of watching it.
